Corporations own our governments on both sides of the border.
Anthems are stupid songs that make us feel disconnected from people on the other side of a line in the sand.
Either do away with anthems altogether or go to the other extreme and make the most entertaining spectacle you can, WITH LAZERS and PYRO and POM POMS, oh my!

The irony is that most people outside of Winnipeg didn't know it had any relation to a corporation until he brought it up.

I think it's great in year 1. Shows appreciation for bringing us hockey.
Now? It's brutal. Let's all interrupt our national anthem to cheer for a company that hasn't done a thing to make the team better!

just a rumour, heard from a guy who works for the team that Chevy's first priority right now is actually aquiring another D before a goalie. Just throwing it our there, found that very interesting and wonder if it has to do with who gets exposed to vegas, is it something about Trouba or just a depth move?

It has vast plains to the west, south and north, so flat you can watch your dog run away for a week.

Personally, i believe that the True North shoutout makes Jets fans pay attention to and even sing the anthem.
Also, I love it when I watch a road game on tv and I hear the chant from Jets fans in the bldg.

Yeah they added Niku a 7th rounder in 2015 to an entry level deal. He's an LHD and had not a bad year in Liiga last year for defensemen, I believe 7th for scoring.

Here's the thing with the defence- unless you are trading Trouba-where do you fit someone else? Trouba is going to get you something huge but it can't be anything, it has to be the right piece.

yeah saw that about Niku, I look forward to watching him with the Moose and see how he develops. I remember when he was drafted, he was at the draft because he thought he would go in the 2nd-4th round. I'd hate to lose Trouba but I just honestly believe he stll wants out? maybe Chevy wants another D because Enstrom will waive his no move or he plans to expose Myers?

Not sure why I ask because I doubt Winnipeg fans or Detroit fans would do this but Peter, would you do DeKeyser, Larkin and Howard for Trouba and Petan?

I think Niku has a chance to make opening night. He's a smart, puck moving dman. His only competition on the bottom pairing is Poolman, whom might not be as good, and the collective tire fire that is Chairot, Melchiori, and Stuart.

Keep the chant. It identifies Winnipeg and he other teams can find their own identifying sound. As for the anthem interference of perceived disrespect, C'mon! The best national anthem singing is done in Chicago where the fans yell and cheer the whole way through. Powerful!

Oops! Must be the rye.

Regarding free agency: I wouldn't look for anyone flashy and would much rather have someone with size, an edge and defence oriented.
